A native of Arlington, VA, award-winning Delaware artist, Anne Crown, has been drawing and painting since childhood. She is a signature member of the Baltimore Watercolor Society and the Delaware Watercolor Society. She has studied and painted in various media, including printmaking, but paints primarily in watercolor, gouache, and oil, and occasionally acrylic. She is both a studio and plein air painter and has traveled and painted in Austria, France, Holland, Ireland, Italy, and Spain as well as the Bahamas, New England, and the Southwest. When not traveling, Anne enjoys painting in her home studio and exploring nearby areas for inspiration and plein air painting. In 2004, she developed and curated a 16-person show on barns of Delaware, featuring painters, photographers, and fiber artists. The show, Treasures of the Land: Delaware Barns and Outbuildings, exhibited throughout Delaware, and held silent auctions to benefit the Delaware chapter of Farm Safety 4 Just Kids, a non-profit educational organization promoting a farm environment free from injuries, illnesses, and fatalities among children and youths. As founding member of the Delaware Watercolor Society, Anne served as president and communications director for many years and enhanced the growth of the organization, through workshops, a newsletter and website, and juried shows in all counties in Delaware. She has served as a juror and judge for local watercolor exhibitions and has received many awards and recognition for her watercolor and oil paintings, including Individual Opportunity Awards from the Delaware Division of Arts. She is a former copyist at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC. Juried Exhibitions/Awards (Partial Listing) these are in order by year
